Amanda and Robert's Wedding
I first met Amanda and Robert in October at one of the wedding fair's Broadview Florist was exhibiting at. They wanted to create their wedding day around a purple theme, Amanda's favourite colour. During their consultation I was told how they were to be married in Belize, Central America and then to legalise the marriage, have another ceremony and the reception at The Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells.
As you can see from the photo above, "Blue Magic" is much paler in colour with very visible white veins, when compared with "Royal Blue" in the photograph below. The flowers are amazing and although most orchids are extremely delicate, these are fairly hardy and will last for days out of water!
When I delivered Amanda her bouquet to the room in which she was getting ready in, her Bridesmaid's were dresses in beautiful Cadbury purple dresses which laced down the back and Amanda was getting photographed getting ready. When she saw the flowers she cried, with happiness i hasten to add!
Amanda had her heart set on Vanda Orchids in purple, which would fit in with her colour theme but would also bring the tropical theme from their Belize ceremony. After discussing and showing various purple Vanda Orchids such as Vanda "Blue Magic", they settled upon Vanda "Royal Blue". They chose this orchid over Blue Magic due to it's rich dark purple orchid colouring with paler purple veins.

Amanda chose a wired teardrop bouquet with hand tieds of white calla lilies for her Bridesmaids. For Robert, the grooms men and the Mothers', white callas were also chosen. Amanda decided she did not want to traditionally "throw" her bouquet to the guests and so decided upon a smaller bouquet to be thrown. The table arrangements were to also feature Vanda Orchids nestled amongst silver and dark purple aluminium wire with a hint of green from a few strands of Steel Grass.
Our wholesaler in Holland went direct to the grower to collect the orchids and then transported them to our English wholesaler where we picked them up at 2am!

The ceremony was held in The Orangery and the reception was held in The Chandelier Restaurant. The table arrangements were seated upon circular mirror plates and had tea lights in clear glass votives around each fishbowl to be lit when the lights went down.

The sashes and the chair covers on the chairs were by Chair Cover Chic and really helped to add to the purple theme.
On our way out from dressing the tables, the grooms men had put on their buttonholes and were waiting in reception for the time to enter the ceremony room, all looking very handsome in their suits but unfortunately i had already packed my camera away!
We wish Amanda and Robert every happiness and thank them both for letting us be a part of their wedding.
