Zoe and Rob's Wedding

I am writing this in hot sunshine which has lasted all weekend! Yesterday was the wedding of Zoe and Rob at The Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells. I met with Zoe and her mother last year at the hotel to discuss her wedding flowers. The colour theme for the wedding was teal which was chosen as the main colour throughout the wedding. We used the teal in the wedding flowers for the ribbon on the Bridesmaids' bouquets and as a finishing touch on the topiary trees outside the ceremony room. Zoe wanted little foliage in the design and so a very small leafed foliage was chosen. She also wanted the flowers to be mostly ivory but with a hint of colour to enhance the teal. We suggested a Rose that has a bright pink tinge to the edge of the petal but on the whole was mostly ivory and goes beautifully with teal.

Zoe's chose a hand tied bouquet of ivory Roses and white tulips and finished with an ivory ribbon handle with pearl pins.

Zoe had two little Bridesmaids who were to have just the white Tulips in small compact hand tieds and finished with teal ribbon.

Rob's buttonhole was to consist of a single ivory Rose with a little foliage. The groomsmen were also to have single ivory Rose buttonholes.

The wedding ceremony took place in the Chandelier Room and two topiary Bay trees flanked the doors. The had white Tulips decorating the head of the tree and at the base the trees were dressed with ivory fabric and teal ribbon.

Inside the ceremony room, either side of the Registrar's table, were two medium sized pedestals with ivory flowers and the pink tinged Rose. Delphiniums, Roses and Lisianthus were the main flowers used as Zoe said that she wanted flowers with very little scent due to guests with Hayfever.

Upon the Registrar's table was a large fishbowl with a hand tied arrangement of Akito and Dolce Vita Roses and white Tulips seated on a mirror plate.

The reception was held in the Royal Suite and had a total of 14 tables, of which 13 had a small fishbowl with a hand tied arrangement of Akito Roses, Dolce Vita Roses and white Tulips and seated on a circular mirror plate.

The top table had the large fishbowl arrangement that was seated on the Registrar's table; a great way of using the wedding flowers in more than one place! The pedestal arrangements and the topiary trees were also moved to the Reception room.

When we were setting up the reception room the cake had not yet arrived but Zoe had asked for the table to be decorated with ivory Rose petals with ivory Roses. We decorated the front of the table as the cake was to be seated on a square silver stand.

We also created thank you bouquets in special presentation boxes and used the flowers that were featured throughout the wedding.

The flowers were again used for the Sunday breakfast room and then the guests took the table flowers home with them!
