Lucy and Paul's Wedding

We had a wedding of our own to attend to over the weekend, that of Lucy and Paul on Saturday 30th April. We have been talking about wedding flowers with Lucy for almost 6 months and so we were really excited for the big day!

The ceremony was to take place at St Peter's Church in Southborough and the reception was to be held at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells. Lucy was really open to suggestions for flower varieties and designs and was a pleasure to work with. Lucy and her father came along to the consultation where we showed them some of our previous wedding work. Lucy was really taken with one of the bouquets in our portfolio, a cream Rose hand tied bouquet with a collar of green Hypericum berries and bear grass loops throughout the design. Her Bridesmaid's were to wear dark purple and so the colour for their bouquets and the table centres were to follow the dark purple theme.

The Bridesmaid's had seasonal hand tied bouquets of dark purple Tulips and were finished with dark purple ribbon and pearl pins.

The groom and the groomsmen had a single Avalanche Rose buttonhole with foliage. The groom's buttonhole also had a bear grass loop to tie in with the bridal bouquet.

At St Peter's Lucy wanted an arrangement on the Altar and chose seasonal Tulips with white Gerberas and white Lisianthus. The arrangement was then to be moved to the top table at the reception.

The pew ends were decorated with simple tied bouquets of Gerberas and strands of bear grass and finished with white ribbon that matched the bridal bouquet. The pew ends were then to be moved to the reception and used as decoration on the top table.

For such a small gesture on the pews they really had great effect in the church as Gerberas have impact and the white really stood out against the blue carpet and wooden pews.

We headed onto the reception to set up the table arrangements and the cake flowers. After the ceremony we collected the church flowers and moved them to The Spa.

The guest tables had clear glass fishbowls with twisted dark purple Tulips inside the vase and seated on a circular mirror plate.

The cake table had a small arrangement of flower adorning it as the cake was decorated with purple and green icing detailing.

Lucy also asked for thank you bouquets which we delivered to The Spa to be given out at the time of the speeches.

Lucy had told us she wanted her horse to be at the wedding and she didn't disappoint! Whilst we were waiting for the guests to leave the church, her horse was walked up the the church and all the guests loved it!

Have a lovely Honeymoon in the Med and all the very best for the future!
