Amy and Joel's Wedding

This weekend we created beautiful arrangements for the wedding of Amy and Joel. We were very excited on Friday decorating St Lawrence church in Stone Street with a beautiful archway of flowers in the summer sun (We got burnt!)

Amy and her mum Carol visited us last year to discuss what flowers Amy wanted for her wedding. The main colour scheme for the wedding was a pale blue with cream and as Amy's cream dress had a blush pink ribbon sash and the men were to wear pale pink ties, a hint of pink was also introduced making for very sugary looking flowers! Amy told us how she was to arrive in a pale blue Rolls Royce and Joel in a silver Ferrari! To top that on the day the Bridesmaids arrived in a Bentley Continental!

For Amy bouquet we created a hand tied bouquet of pale pink Roses with cream Roses and Sage leaves with Rosemary and Eucalyptus. A very scented bouquet and the colours worked perfectly with her dress.

The Bridesmaids were to be dressed in pale blue and so Amy wanted to incorporate blue into their bouquets as well as cream and pale pink. Amy had five adult bridesmaids who carried hand tied bouquets and two flower girls who wore wrist corsages and carried baskets of Rose petals.

At the church we spent a lovely morning decorating the archway into the church with beautiful Roses and pale blue Hydrangea. We had a lot of passers by stop to admire it and have a chat to us about the wedding. We also created a pedestal arrangement for inside the church along with trailing ivy pew ends finished with alternating pale blue and cream ribbon bows. We also made a lych gate arrangement to welcome people to the church.

We also provided a large basket full of Rose petals to be thrown as Amy and Joel came out of the church!

The reception was held in a lovely marquee in the grounds of Joel's parents just beside an apple orchard. All the tables were named after different apple varieties and as favours the guests were given toffee apples!

Amy had seen our hurricane lamp arrangements and set her heart on them for her wedding. We used pale blue Hydrangea with Avalanche and Sweet Avalanche Roses with Sage and Eucalyptus in the arrangements.

Amy wanted the top table to be slightly different from the guest tables but still incorporating candles and so chose our silver candelabras with a flower arrangement with Hydrangea, Roses, Sage and Eucalyptus.

Amy wanted the pedestal arrangement to be moved to the marquee after the ceremony which we transported and set up. She also wanted sprigs of Rosemary on every place setting and they worked really well with the country style of the wedding.

We had a great time arranging the flowers for Amy and Joel and hope they have a fantastic time on their honeymoon and best wishes for the future!
