Christine and Chris' Wedding

Last week we had the pleasure of arranging the flowers at Christine and Chris' wedding. We visited Christine and her mum Kim at their home one evening to discuss what flowers she would like for her special day. Christine's bridesmaid was to wear a dress called "Salsa", a two tone orange and so Christine wanted her colour theme to reflect her bridesmaid dress. She had already decided upon tall arrangements for the reception at the stunning Bradbourne House, and we were more than happy to work with the vases she had purchased as she wanted to give the whole arrangement away at the end of the evening to the guests. An addition to the colour scheme was that of gold and butterflies. She wanted hints of gold, chair sashes etc and she wanted butterflies to be incorporated throughout.

Christine chose a compact hand tied bouquet in shades of orange and cream with gold butterflies and diamante detailing.

Christine's bridesmaid carried a hand tied bouquet of all cream flowers, Freesia, Roses and Lisianthus along with gold butterflies. After the wedding Kim came to see us and said how scented the Freesia were and how lovely they were to have for their scent.

Chris's buttonhole was a Mango Calla Lily with foliage and finished with a diamante pin to attach to match with Christine's bouquet. The Groomsmen also wore Calla Lily buttonholes with the mums wearing a Cherry Brandy Rose with cream Freesia and a cream Freesia corsage. We also made cream Carnation buttonholes for all the guests!

At Bradbourne House we decorated the pillars at the main entrance with gold swagging and two tones of orange Gerbera and cream Gerbera.

Inside the entrance hall we also decorated the staircase with gold swagging and orange and cream Gerberas.

Chris had wanted a red colour scheme (football colours!) but as the orange colour scheme was decided upon Christine wanted a nod to the red and so chose upon their cake being decorated with deep red Roses and also the mantelpiece decorated with bud vases with a single red Rose in each with gold swagging throughout the vases.

Also in the entrance hall Christine wanted a fishbowl with floating Gerbera flowers on the hallway table which sat upon one of our large mirror plates which were decorated with gold tea lights with butterfly cut outs and filled with orange candles.

In the main room at Bradboune we created the tall flower arrangements Christine wanted. We used orange and cream Gerberas with cream Lisianthus and cream Roses. We used trailing ivy in the arrangements and twisted grasses inside the vases. Christine also wanted butterflies to feature in the arrangements and so we added in large gold butterflies.

Even the favours were butterfly shaped!

For the top table we created a long and low arrangement with Gerberas and Roses with Lisianthus and gold butterflies. We also made an ivy swag to extend the length of the top table.

Christine also wanted a bouquet to throw as she wanted to use her bridal bouquet for another purpose. We made a small hand tied bouquet of cream and orange Roses with foliage finished with cream ribbon.

Kim came to see us after the wedding and thanked us for all of the flowers we had created for the wedding. She said they really helped to make the day perfect for Chris and Christine and how all the guests had commented on how lovely they were.

We really enjoyed creating the flowers for their wedding and we wish them every happiness for their future together and hope they have a lovely honeymoon in Aruba!
