Virve and James' Wedding

We met with Virve and James only a few short weeks ago to discuss their wedding flowers and enhance their wedding day. Virve and James chose The Spa Hotel to host both their ceremony and reception in the contemporary Orangery. Although the day was extremely wet and windy, we love the atmospheric photographs we captured of the reception flowers (see below!).

Virve and James were such a lovely couple to create floral designs for, very laid back and they were so comfortable to put all their trust in us to create the arrangements for their day.

The colour scheme of the wedding was Lavender and we used our skills to accent the Lavender colour with antique pinks and ivories and bring a truly romantic feel to the flower arrangements.

Virve chose a classic hand tied bouquet made from mostly Roses along with seasonal Tulips and Ranunculus, with scented Lavender and delicate Panicum grasses. We used stunning Ocean Song Roses alongside Amnesia and Avalanche Roses. The bouquet was finished with luxurious cream satin ribbon and pearl detailing.

Virve also chose to wear flowers in her hair, and we wired dainty Ornithogalum florets for her.

James wore a buttonhole to match with his bride's bouquet, a single Avalanche Rose with Lavender and Panicum grass with ivy and Eucalyptus foliage.

James' groomsmen wore antique pink Amnesia Rose buttonholes with delicate Panicum grass and foliages.

For the ladies we created delicate corsages using scented Freesia and ivory Lisianthus along with the soft Panicum grass and Eucalyptus and ivy foliage.

The ceremony was held in The Orangery and a romantic long and low arrangement was created to sit on the Registrar's table. Roses, Tulips, Lavender, Ranunculus and Panicum grass made up the arrangement.

For the ceremony we also dressed two floor standing cream candelabras with trailing ivy. Two dressed candelabras stood at the beginning of the aisle.

For the reception, James and Virve had bought quirky vases from Vivre's native Finland. They were upturned Papa Moomin's hats! For the top table a large vase was placed on a mirror plate and Virve's bridal bouquet was placed in it so she could continue to admire it.

On the guest tables, three small vases were placed on mirror plates for smaller hand tied bouquets and tealights were positioned around the arrangement.

On the other guest tables, cream candelabras were festooned with flower around their bases.

Even though it was such a wet and windy day, having the candlelight really helped to add extra warmth and atmosphere to the day.

We loved working with Virve and James and we wish them all the very best for the future!
