Lynsey and Nick's Wedding

On a gloriously sunny Saturday in July we created flowers for the wedding of Lynsey and Nick. Lynsey and Nick chose The Mercure Hotel in Tunbridge Wells for both their ceremony and reception.

When we first met Lynsey and Nick we discussed their requirements, likes and dislikes and Lynsey mentioned their main colour scheme was based upon Malibu blue. They had also brought with them the containers they had decorated themselves that they wanted their table flower arrangements to go in. Nick also showed us the pieces of wood that the vase would sit upon etched with the date of their wedding. Such a lovely, quirky personal touch!

The overall look for the flowers was to be informal, country style with natural in season flowers. A mixture of cream Roses with cream Freesia, lime green Alchemilla mollis (perfect for July!) along with pale blue Nigella and lots of variegated ivy loops was chosen for the Bridal and Bridesmaids' bouquets. The bridal bouquet and flower girl bouquets were finished with Malibu blue satin ribbon and pearl detailing and the adult Bridesmaids' bouquets were finished with ivory satin ribbon and pearl detailing.

Lynsey wanted a few flowers for her hair and decided upon small cream Roses, Freesia and Nigella.

For Nick we created a buttonhole to match Lynsey's bouquet, with a cream Roses, pale blue Nigella and lime green Alchemilla mollis with variegated ivy leaves.

For the ladies we created Freesia and ivy corsages.

As the same room was being used for the Ceremony and the Reception we were unable to set the tables with the flower arrangements but we did take a few snaps of the table decorations before they were whisked away! We used fragrant Stocks along with Alchemilla mollis and pale blue Nigella and variegated ivy loops.
